Here is my first attempt at a cubist drawing. The idea was to take an object (I had this little weird glass vase in the shape of a cluster of grapes) and then break it apart, and draw it from more than one angle. Also we were supposed to "let go" of reality a bit more and just think of the lines as elements on the surface of the page. We were also told to erase about a third of the drawing every 5 minutes, to shift things around and consider different arrangements.

I did not enjoy drawing this! (we spent two hours on this one drawing!) It is very hard to grasp what we are supposed to be doing and when something is "done" or if you are doing anything "right." In general I hate the idea of "fine art"... BLECH!
