I just want to elevate myself

A couple of weeks ago I had this epiphany about STANDING UP while I work. I have kind of a screwed up back to start out with (from 6 years as a scenic carpenter, is my guess...) So sitting 10 hours a day in class or at the drawing board sure doesn't help matters!
For drawing, the fix was easy, as I own an Alvin Fold-A-Matic which is quite possibly one of the greatest things ever designed. It can acheive any angle degree from 0 flat to 90 verticle at a whole range of heights. So I just adjusted the height and I could stand while drawing.
Tonight though, after a brief respite, I started coloring Aaron's next graphic novel for Scholastic again, and after a few hours my back really started to hurt. So I thought, "Hmmm... I wonder if I could elevate my COMPUTER..."
I hunted around the apartment and found some left over plywood from my closet (which I made) and some large milk crates that were just sitting in a different corner. A few minutes of unwiring, careful stacking and rewiring and it's done! I've only been using it for a few hours tonight, but I think it's going to be a big improvement! The height is great for typing, the monitors are at a nice level, and it actually creates MORE desk space below. I might need to get one of those tall stools though, for when my feet get tired, but other than that I think it's going to be GREAT!

My current job has me at a computer for most of the day. A few months ago I started to get a horrible backache, and for some reason I was completely, unwaveringly convinced that something was horribly wrong with my kidneys. I went to my doctor and was all "Oh my god! My kidneys!" but she just looked at me like I was an idiot and said "Umm. No. You just need to stretch more."
